Luttrellstown Castle Wedding - Fiona & Alex

I receive a lot of wedding booking from clients living abroad - usually Australia or New Zealand.  This time it was a bit closer to home.  Fiona and Alex live in the UK.  Fiona is Irish and Alex is from England and they celebrated their wedding in Luttrellstown Castle.  It’s a venue that I’ve worked in before and it is my absolute favourite Irish venue.
Both Fiona and Alex had a totally chilled out attitude to their wedding day.  Like all my clients, they wanted a documentary approach to their photographs and Luttrellstown gives me plenty of opportunities to be discrete…!!  Started off with bridal preparations in the beautiful Aileen Plunkett room and its wonderful bathroom.  The lads meanwhile were all getting ready in a different wing which made it easy to nip around to them and capture their preparations.  The civil ceremony was held in the Castle with a drinks reception afterwards.  Fiona and Alex were happy to schedule plenty of time for their photos.  Their thinking was that since they had paid for such a wonderful venue, then they should get the most out of it.   This gave us loads of time to wander around the gardens and to also go inside for a few photos.  Having such fantastic weather on the day also helped..!!
By the time the family photos were done there was time for mingling amongst guests, a lot of which had travelled over from England.  Then dinner and some hilarious speeches.  After some dancing it was time for my assistant and I to pack up and head home.  We got some lovely photos from the day thanks to a great couple, great venue and great weather.  Here’s a selection from the day.

We got married in September this year and were so lucky to have David photographing the wedding. We live in the UK but the wedding was in Ireland so it was quite difficult for us when it came to choosing a photographer. We wanted to be sure the photographer understood what style we liked and what general vibe we were after etc., which is all hard to do from a different country. As soon as we got in contact with David however, he immediately put us at ease. He suggested we have a skype call so we could properly chat and understand each other. I think we chatted for well over an hour while he got to know us, our personalities and what we wanted out of our photo session. We were confident from that point that we had chosen the right photographer. This was further confirmed on the day. David arrived and we hardly knew he was there. His documentary style meant he caught some of the more precious, intimate moments of the day without anyone even noticing. But as well as this, when it came to the more difficult, posed group shots, he was very organised and expertly rounded up all of the guests, despite them being fairly drunk at this stage :) We received our photos two weeks later which is the fastest turnaround I think I’ve heard of in wedding photography. We really couldn’t recommend David enough, he has provided us with fabulous, permanent reminders of our day.
Thanks so much!
