Sisi & Keith’s wedding took place in the beautiful Orangerie Elswout in Overveen, Holland. A Dutch venue where I had previously worked. I had already done an engagement shoot with these guys (another blog…!) and their wedding seemed to come around very fast after our practice session. It was only a few weeks later when I met them again on their wedding day at the Carlton Square Hotel in Haarlem just outside Amsterdam for bride and groom preparations. Unlike an Irish wedding Sisi & Keith got ready together that morning in the same room which added a different dynamic to the preparations.
Once ready, a horse drawn carriage was waiting outside to take Sisi & Keith to their fabulous reception venue surrounded by acres of beautiful woodland, trails and grasslands. Unfortunately though the weather wasn’t so beautiful - cold and wet which impacted on our outdoor photographic plans. However, this is typical with weddings and you just have to deal with whatever the conditions are like on the day. It didn’t spoil things and we still managed to get outside between rain showers to quickly get some shots. Both Sisi & Keith were so relaxed and chilled about things which always makes everything so much easier. No stress, just go with the flow and you can see the results of that in their really beautiful photos.
The lovely elegant ceremony was followed by cake cutting, drinks and canapés. Then right on cue the rain stopped for a ballon release just before everybody retired for dinner.
Here’s a sample of some shots from their day.
