2016 was an incredible year for photographing weddings. I got to work with some amazing brides and grooms from not just Ireland but from all over the world. Some destination weddings were also thrown into the mix creating some variety to my work. Engagement shoots from Irish couples and couples from abroad. Whilst smartphones have undoubtably diluted peoples appreciation of photography as an art, thankfully there are still a lot of people of all ages who still understand that there is a lot more to taking a photograph than just pressing a button and are prepared to invest in quality life long memories that only a properly captured and printed photograph can deliver.
That said, I wish to thank all my couples for trusting in me to photograph their wedding not just in 2016 but for the previous 9 years also. 2017 will see my 10th anniversary as a full-time professional wedding photographer and what a journey it has been. I left the office job in the corporate world to follow my dream back in 2007. It's been whirlwind of tremendous growth, self-discovery and satisfaction. I've got to see the world, live abroad for 4 years, married an incredible woman and now am the proud father of a wonderful little girl. Business is going from strength to strength and my work is constantly evolving. Here's to the next 10 years and all the fantastic people that I will work with during that time.
These are just some very few highlights from weddings that I photographed over the past year as there are simply far too many to include here.
