Childhood friends Sarah & Niall chose to have their wedding at the prestigious K Club in Straffan, Kildare. The last time I photographed a K Club wedding was in winter during a storm. This wedding day was the opposite – summer – warm and sunny. Very sunny..!!
K Club Wedding – Sarah & Niall
Every wedding photographer in Ireland (in fact every wedding photographer on the planet) likes an organised bride. Sarah was an organised bride. I like Sarah.
I knew from the outset that this special day was going to go to plan and it did – hallelujah..!! We kicked off the photography at Sarah’s family home where the bridal preparations were underway. Peace, tranquility and laughter abounded in the house. Some lovely touching moments also between Sarah and her father as they shared a quiet conversation in the kitchen.
Before I knew it, it was time to head off to the church a little bit ahead of Sarah and her bridesmaids where guests were arriving and saying hello to the happy groom Niall. Cool as a cucumber I might add..!! Sarah arrived on time in a beautiful Jag driven by her uncle. A walk up the long aisle and the ceremony commenced.
One of the things that I loved about this wedding was that as childhood friends, Sarah and Niall made their First Holy Communion in this same church – St Pius X RC Church in Templeogue. After the service, they had their photograph taken outside the church door. Couple of decades later they get married here and have their photograph taken outside the church door. Here’s the proof – isn’t that lovely…?
The K Club is undoubtably one of Kildare’s most luxurious wedding venues. A beautiful 5 star wedding venue with lovely interiors and expansive grounds. For their photos we simply went for a walk seeking out shady spots due to the overly strong sun. After a quick session so family photos and then some mingling with guests before the dinner gong was sounded.
Most guests made the leisurely walk from the main house to the reception suite.
Dinner, speeches, some mad crazy dance moves on the dance floor and the day was complete. Sarah and Niall were really great to work with and thanks to Sarah’s organisational skills, everything went to plan.
