This was a hot one…! This was the awesome summer wedding at Palmersrtown House Estate of Danielle & Niall held during our recent scorching summer. Blazing sun, ice cream and an amazing couple are my personal memories of the day.

Summer wedding at Palmerstown House Estate

I had the honour of photographing Danielle’s sisters wedding the previous summer at the K-Club so I already knew Danielle and her side of the family. So there was a touch of déjà vu
going on which is always nice. The day started at Danielle’s family home and my second shooter for the day – Edel (https://www.edelomalley.com/) took care of the groom preparations down the road.
Great vibes around and as we made our way to Palmerstown House the temperature started rising. This was to be a civil ceremony in the beautiful hall of the old house with me covering the ceremony from ground level and Edel from the balcony above. So after a beautifully delivered and laughter filled ceremony everybody spilled out into the sunshine and made full use of the ice cream van hired in for the occasion. For the couple photos it was to be a let’s find a shady spot sort of mission due the the intense sun and then playing with the light. So after an enjoyable session it was time to go back the the house to mingle amongst the guests and take some family photos. And grab an ice cream..! Speeches were kept to a minimum with just the groom and best man speaking (a trend that seems to be taking hold to the delight of most wedding guests). They were also done outdoors before the dinner bell was rung. By this stage the sun had gone and it was just a beautiful setting for the speeches.
After the meal was over Danielle, Niall and I rushed up to the roof of the house where we just about caught the setting sun as it peaked out from behind some clouds.
It was such a hot night, that the band set up outside and I think that this really was the perfect ending to an incredible day in the sun.

Thank you so much to Danielle & Niall for choosing me to be their Palmerstown House Estate wedding photographer.
