Amazing Tankardstown House Wedding Photographer

Carole & Bryan opted for a Tankardstown House wedding outside Slane last Christmas. Tankardstown House is probably one of the best wedding venues in Meath and is a favourite amongst Meath and Dublin wedding photographers. It’s beautiful, expansive and varied grounds offer great opportunities for capturing amazing wedding photographs.

Tankardstown House Wedding – Carole & Bryan

First wedding of the year was in February and what a day. Carole & Bryan were married in Rathfeigh church and then onto the wonderful Tankardstown House just outside Slane for the reception. After all the recent storms we were absolutely blessed to have such a perfect weather on the day. The house and grounds of Tankardstown were looking particularly amazing with the soft winter sunlight.  Carole and Bryan really wanted a documentary approach to their wedding photographs as they were not too fond of the camera. As well as that, Carole really loves details so loads of detail shots were on my agenda.

Carole stayed at Tankardstown House the night before so I met up with her and the girls for the bridal preparations in the Master Suite early that morning.  Beautiful light fills this particular room up in the mornings and on this sunny winter morning the light in the room was perfect for wedding photography. Here the fantastic Alison McGovern and Joanne Kelly were doing the make-up and hair.

Onwards to the quaint Rathfeigh church for the ceremony where the vows were made and the knot was tied before everybody made the trip back to Tankardstown House. We immediately launched into a photo-shoot for Carole & Bryan which unfortunately got cut short by a break in the weather. But hey – that’s Irish weddings for ya…!  We finished with a few shots in the house before unleashing the bride and groom on their guests.

I had great fun with these guys. They were so comfortable together and I bonded with them pretty fast which allowed me to get some lovely images despite a short photo-shoot. The weather then cleared up again which allowed us to get some quick family photos outside before everybody headed inside for dinner.

All in all a perfect day.
