Tankardstown House Wedding

WOW – another Tankardstown House Wedding. So good, I’m going to say it again….

Tankardstown House Wedding

This is the epic wedding from last summer of Dubliner’s Catherine & Cormac. Having had their engagement session with me in Wicklow about 6 weeks or so before their wedding, these guys were on fire when it came to their big day. The advantages of an engagement shoot cannot be underestimated. Anyway, enough about that. On to their wedding…!

The Preparations

Things kicked off at Boyne House in Slane where both bride and groom got ready. Beautiful old house with gorgeous light flooding in those big windows to light up the preparations. Loads of laughs with the bride thanks to a great group of bridesmaids and her mum. Before we know it, dad had appeared at the door to bring Catherine across the road to the church for the ceremony.

The Ceremony

Lovely ceremony in a beautiful bright church celebrated by a really nice priest who was a friend of Catherine’s family. Being such a hot day, the ice cream van was ordered in and was a huge hit with guests as they emptied from the church into the blazing sun in the churchyard. Tankardstown House is only about a 10 minute drive away so a good bit of time was spent with guest at the churchyard before making the way to what is actually my favourite wedding venue in Leinster. Had a great time with these guys for their photos. Really enjoyable walking around the gardens. Have to say that Catherine is such an incredible organiser that absolutely nothing went wrong on her day. It was absolutely perfect. Even the family photos were done in a jiffy.

The Evening

Thanks to that, there was plenty of time for Catherine and Cormac to mingle with their guests before the dinner bell. I stayed until dancing so I was also able to cover the speeches and to take them outside for some post sunset shots. Yeah, we missed the sunset by a little bit as the speeches were still ongoing. However, we still go some lovely light to round off an incredible day.

Thanks..!

I want to thank both Catherine and Cormac for choosing me to be their Tankardstown House Wedding photographer (and engagement..!) photographer. A Tankardstown House wedding will always be epic but this one may have just nudged into the top spot me thinks…!
