Castle Bellingham

The final thing we had to organise for our wedding was the photographer and we found this the hardest part. There are so many to choose from and after a while every wedding photographers albums look the same and this is disappointing because you want your  own to be something special. It wasn’t until 3 months before the wedding, down to the wire, after attending tons of wedding fairs and looking at countless web sites that we stumbled across David.  Immediately I knew this was the photographer for us. The idea of posed photographs was always going to be a no no for us and David is the complete opposite to any conventional photographer. His photos are all naturally and happen organically. He was able to capture images that no other photographer we had met could have. His photographic style of disappearing into the background and capturing aspects of the day that would have been forgotten or lost in posed images is amazing. We loved the photos he captured on the day.

We got married in September this year and were so lucky to have David photographing the wedding. We live in the UK but the wedding was in Ireland so it was quite difficult for us when it came to choosing a photographer. We wanted to be sure the photographer understood what style we liked and what general vibe we were after etc., which is all hard to do from a different country. As soon as we got in contact with David however, he immediately put us at ease. He suggested we have a skype call so we could properly chat and understand each other. I think we chatted for well over an hour while he got to know us, our personalities and what we wanted out of our photo session. We were confident from that point that we had chosen the right photographer. This was further confirmed on the day. David arrived and we hardly knew he was there. His documentary style meant he caught some of the more precious, intimate moments of the day without anyone even noticing. But as well as this, when it came to the more difficult, posed group shots, he was very organised and expertly rounded up all of the guests, despite them being fairly drunk at this stage 🙂 We received our photos two weeks later which is the fastest turnaround I think I’ve heard of in wedding photography. We really couldn’t recommend David enough, he has provided us with fabulous, permanent reminders of our day. Thanks so much!

Myself and Jim wish to truly thank you for being our wedding photographer. We first picked you having seen 1) your work and 2) how you work, at Jim’s brothers wedding. It was so important to us to have someone who we knew would take great pictures but at the same time blend into the background themselves. From our first meeting with you a year before the wedding you took on every bit of info about what style of photos we wanted how long we wanted to spend and exactly what we wanted to capture. On the day itself you were amazing and so unobtrusive which is fantastic when you are trying to capture fly on the wall style photos but yet you were also great at directing us for the more posed family shots. When we got home from honeymoon we were dying to see the pictures and are so happy that you got so many good shots of all our guests as well as ourselves and they are all so natural. We now have the fun job of trying to whittle down to album photos out of all the wonderful shots but we will treasure them all for years to come. Thank you so much for doing an amazing job.

Living in canada and organising our wedding back home in irelend had its difficult moments. I spent a lot of time researching photographers and finally and thankfully found David. We did a skype call that was so relaxing and assured us that David was the guy we were looking for. He is so easy to deal with and helpful. We met again just before our wedding and went through how the day would generally pan out. We never wanted to spend too much time from our family and guests on the day so David was prepared for this. On the day itself David was amazing. He does so much to get the pics you imagine…he is on the go all the time capturing your special memories yet you hardly know he is there. Also from my own personal experience with David, on my wedding day he was so helpful and kind. He wants you to enjoy your day. As for the pictures he captures….well we have ours for the last 5 months and we still can’t choose which ones we want for the album. They are all so amazing. I look at them all the time….. David loves his work and it shows. He is definitely the best photographer and a lovely man. So happy he was there for our day.

OMG Dave!!!! I am absolutely trilled to bits with the photos. They are absolutely amazing and the ones in Glendalough are stunning and look like they are taken directly from a top notch magazine. We are overwhelmed by the quality of them especially given the time constraints. We cannot thank you enough Dave and our thanks to Siobhan also. You captured our day so vividly and we will always have the photos to look back on. All I can say is, thank God we hired the best!!! I’ll be in touch when we get back re album and thank you cards etc. ( you may need to help me choose 😉 ). Btw, you would Love NZ, the scenery is awesome and Mick even said “Dave Duignan would love it over here”!!! Anyway Dave, again a sincere thank you for all your work, we are chuffed to bits.

We had the pleasure of working with David Duignan on our Wedding day. He is a kind, courteous, friendly gent and we felt at ease the moment we met him. He introduced himself months in advance of our wedding so we knew we would be comfortable on what was to be a very overwhelming day. He was very comfortable in our presence and charming. When the big day arrived, David arrived and as promised, being somewhat of a shy bride I requested David strictly stick to a documentary style and blend into the background. He was brilliant on the day and had a wonderfully calm presence. We were on Honeymoon when our link to our photos arrived, which was so quick. We were awed at how David had captured our day. To describe David in one word, fabulous! I couldn’t recommend him any higher.

My fiancé and I got engaged on a trip to Ireland and we had the idea of doing an engagement shoot before we came back and found David who was able to accommodate our tight schedule and do the shoot 2-3 days later. He was super friendly, did a great job of putting us at ease and that allowed for some truly great photos in Dublin. His turnaround time was quick, and the quality of the shots was exactly what we hoped for and they turned out great when we had some of them put on canvas. He had a great eye for the lighting, capturing unique situations, and getting photos that were natural looking. Would highly recommend!

David is such a fantastic photographer! Having photographed both of my brothers weddings, we were delighted he was available for our date, even at short notice. He was so professional and very discreet capturing our day so perfectly. David was extremely patient and understood our desire to have a stress free day. Very accommodating for those living outside of Dublin, facilitating meetings through Skype if necessary. He even travelled to familiarise himself with our venue prior to the wedding. Our photographs are fabulous and he went over and beyond in designing our album (twice) to ensure we were happy with the finished product. I highly recommend David, you won’t find a more professional photographer! He was amazing!

David Duignan is an outstanding photographer who we would unreservedly recommend to anyone planning a wedding. We handpicked Dave to photograph our special day after we viewed the impressive portfolio on his website. What distinguished Dave from all other local photographers, in my view, was both his ability to capture unadulterated moments (real emotions) on camera, and his experience photographing weddings in different international contexts and obvious openness to different traditions and cultures. We were delighted when Dave confirmed his availability, and our initial impressions were confirmed by all of our dealings with him. Since we were organizing our wedding from a different country and were novices at wedding planning, we were extremely grateful to be able to capitalize on Dave’s helpful advice about wedding logistics, particularly in relation to dealing with unpredictability and optimal timings, which enabled us to carefully plan the shots we wanted and adopt a realistic view—-and we were delighted when things went smoothly and we had more time than expected. Through chats over skype and over coffee before the wedding, we felt very relaxed and at ease with Dave on our big day, and he was able to observe us interacting and get a sense of our style and preference. He is incredibly accommodating, congenial, professional, hardworking. He was both unobtrusive in photograph taking, and able to capture spectacular shots. We could not have been happier with our photos and our guests were very complimentary too. Dave is, without a doubt, a world class talent.

David was a great help and guidance throughout my wedding process. Not only does he portray professionalism but it’s his calming nurture that really connects you to him. My photos were absolutely fantastic and it was all down to David’s research and listening to my needs. Cannot recommend him highly enough.

David photographed our wedding in Sneem on a lovely Irish summer day in August….gale force winds and horizontal rain!! Even with this he created the most unbelievable photos. Planning a wedding all the way from Vancouver had it’s challenges but David was so supportive, with lots of extra bits of advice, even outside of the photography side of things. He was so helpful and unobtrusive, we didn’t even realise he was taking pictures most of the day. We have the most amazing photos and are currently struggling to narrow it down to an album. David also convinced us to climb out on a rock by the ocean, which created a truly unbelievable photo. Thanks so much David!

We had Dave as our photographer for our wedding, and he are so glad we did. He is a true professional, our guests all commented on how unobtrusive he was but he still got amazing shots. We are in love with the documentary style photos, he really captured the happiness of our day. And he didn’t even let the rain on the wild Atlantic coast get in his way!

Dave was the photographer for our October wedding and we can’t recommend him highly enough. We met on a couple of occasions before the big day and his attention to detail and absolute passion for his work was clear. We wanted relaxed, natural photographs and he certainly delivered. The photographs that Dave took were absolutely beautiful and he captured so many special moments of the day that narrowing the choices for the wedding album is proving difficult! Dave and his assistant Deena were a pleasure to work with, definitely one of the best decisions we made.

I came across David’s blog when I was searching for a Photographer to shoot our engagement photos while we were on vacation in Ireland. His work took my breath away and I was so excited to work with him! David was very quick to respond and provided a lot of suggestions and ideas to help us plan a great photo shoot! He was very patient and encouraging while taking our photos. The outcome was amazing too! His photos are absolutely stunning! I could not have asked for better engagement photos! Everyone loves them! I cannot thank David enough for capturing our love in the most beautiful way!

David was great to deal with from the very first phone call to the meeting after the wedding to decide on the album. The photos are brilliant and everyone commented on how he was so unobtrusive and we didn’t really notice him being there. I would highly recommend him and I can’t wait to print off more and more photos from the wedding.

I got married in August 2013 and after meeting a lot of photographers I decided to go with David. I have to say it was the best decision I made. When sitting down before the wedding to discuss things my husband and I felt so comfortable with him, no question was silly for us to ask David he made us feel at such ease. On our wedding day the pictures he took were so natural most of the time we forgot he was there. When we got our pictures they were simply stunning.  I would recommend David to any couple planning their big day he is such a nice guy and a real professional.

We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding photographer! David is extremely personable, friendly and an overall joy to work with. He captured both our engagement photos and our wedding day and we’re already discussing how much we’d love to work with him again for future life events.

His documentary style allowed us to enjoy our first moment as husband and wife undisturbed and just be ourselves which made the photos come out beautifully. We were so amazed by the end results that we can’t help but scroll through the photos over and over again.

Thanks so much, David! It has been a pleasure!

David is an absolutely amazing photographer. Me and my husband cannot recommend him highly enough. He photographed our wedding on 28th July and he was brilliant and so easy to work with. We had bad weather on the day and David offered us a reshoot once the weather got better which is something we would never had thought of and we are so grateful he did. We were in awe when we received our pictures and honestly I don’t know how I’m going to narrow it down.
Thank you so again for everything David

Wild Atlantic Way Engagement Shoot

My fiance and I (from Columbus, Ohio) arranged to meet David on the West Coast of Ireland for a full day engagement shoot. David pre-planned our route (after talking with us over Skype months in advance of our trip), and took us to the most amazing locations! We loved spending the day with David, and appreciated him driving us around to all of our locations while we sat back and enjoyed experiencing the Wild Atlantic Way (something we wouldn’t have done otherwise). Neither of us were used to being photographed in a professional setting like this (and it was our first time being photographed together!), but David made it easy for us to relax and enjoy the whole experience. We can’t say enough how pleased we are with the photos (I currently have 5 hanging in my office, and a rotating selection of 10 or so for my computer wallpaper). We had such a wide variety of landscapes that many people asked us if we took our engagement photos over multiple days! Chris and I were shocked with how quickly we got our photos back from David–we were both so pleased with the quality of David’s work. It has truly been a pleasure for Chris and I (as well as our parents) to celebrate our engagement with such wonderful photos, and for us to share and to remember our Ireland trip together with such breathtaking landscapes! David was also wonderful in being accommodating to our MANY outfit changes! 🙂

Thank you so much David!
